Under Clinical Skills we are required to :
• Place and secure intravenous catheters
• Cephalic vein—peripheral line (dog and cat)
• Saphenous vein—peripheral line (dog only)
The number of times needed to performance each procedure is 7. Canine cephalic vein—2, Feline cephalic vein—2, Canine saphenous vein—2.
But under Materials Submitted for Evaluation:
You are required provide a digital video clip of student placing an intravenous catheter in the cephalic vein
of a dog or cat and the jugular vein of a dog or cat.
I was in class when Dr. Jim said we did not have to place the Jugular catheter. Also if we are not required to practice it before hand how are we suppose to place the darn thing???? Is this a typo? Please clear this up for me.
