Hi everyone!
I'm planning on joining the Army as a 35p (linguist). I am semi-fluent in Arabic and my recruiter told me that right now the Army is running low on Linguists (the Army currently only has bonuses for Linguists) so i'm likely to get my first pick signed into my enlistment contract. He said i'll be off to basic a couple weeks after I sign my contract.
The problem is, my ENTIRE family are Air Force Airborne Linguists, well not entire, but a lot, it sort of runs in the family. I'm going to have to wait at least 6 months for an Airborne Linguist spot to open up at DLI in the Air Force which I really don't want to do.
Everything else checks out, no medical issues, i'm fit, no record, nothing.
If anyone has any advice about AF vs Army i'd love to hear it. Or if you think i'm not getting the full story from any of ther recruiters that would be great as well.
