So I have recently been put on the overnight shift at my hospital (9pm-8am), which has the doctor, a CVT, and an assistant. I am the assistant, of course, since I am not through my program yet. I expected to have lots of "emergencies" since it is an after hours shift, but I have done 2 CPRs in less than two weeks worth of shifts! I've been at my hospital for 2 years, and in that time have probably seen and helped preform CPR maybe 10 times total (not counting these last two). I got to see my first defibrilation this last week, though. I am kind of in awe about it still!
How many others have helped with, or seen CPR? Does your clinic/hospital have a specific process on how it is run? How many have been successful?
